This We Believe
1. The Bible to be the written record of God's revelation of Himself to man. We believe that it was writen by men inspired of God and is the divinely inspired and inerrant word of God.
2. We believe in one God who revealed himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe that man was created by God in His own image and is the crowning work of God's creation. We believe man was created innocent and with a free will. We believe man chose his own way and lost his innocence and brought sin to the human race. We believe all need to be saved from sin.
4. We believe salvation has been provided by God through Jesus Christ and that man can receive this salvation by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
5. We believe the church is made up of believers in Jesus Christ who have confessed Him and been baptized by immersion. We believe that the church is autonomous and has no authority except Jesus Christ its head through the Holy Spirits leadership.
6.We believe in two symbolic ordinances; that is baptism and the Lord's Supper.
7. We believe in evangelizing the lost and missionary emphasis at home and around the world.
8. We believe in voluntary association with sister churches in the Holston Valley Association, the Tennessee Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.
9. We believe in Christian education, stewardship, Christian cooperation and religious liberty.
10. We believe in the Second Coming of our Lord in His own time.
PLAN OF SALVATION
God Loves you
John 3:16- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
All are sinners
Romans 3:10- As it is written,there is none righteous,no,not one:
Romans 3:23- For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
God's price for sin
Romans 6:23- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God's plan for redemption
Romans 5:8- But God commendeth his love toward us,in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:9- Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Romans 10:9- That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10- For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:13- For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
